A CHF 40 discount will be granted to all students on presentation of a valid student card. The following packs will be available as options:
To support PolyLAN financially, you can also add CHF 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 to your pack. It's important to remember that a LAN of this scale requires a lot of money, and a gesture on your part would help us to survive. |
Location |
LAN takes place at Beaulieu in the center of Lausanne. |
What you need to bring |
Despite our excellent internet connection, we'd be grateful if you'd done your important updates before coming, as this can become problematic if everyone reinstalls their systems on arrival! |
Your arrival at PolyLAN |
If you're coming by car : You can unload your equipment directly in front of the entrance by choosing the quick drop-off lane; staff will be on hand to inform you if necessary. However, in this case, parking time will be very limited, and you'll have to drop off your belongings along the side of the building and leave immediately. If there are no more spaces available, you'll have to go straight to the Beaulieu parking lot to avoid blocking the main road. When you reach the entrance, you'll have 3 choices: 1. Line-cut or quick drop-off access If you've been to the before or have already checked in, you'll be given access to the entrance on the left. 2. GamerID check-in If you've already checked in and still have your card, you'll enter through the right-hand door. There will be 2 lanes, so choose the one marked "With GamerID". 3. Check-in without GamerID If you're new or have lost/forgotten your card, you'll also enter through the right-hand door, but in the second line marked "Without GamerID". |
During LAN |
Teams will be placed by us shortly before the LAN. A whole host of activities will be organized, and a schedule will be available shortly before the LAN. Those registered for the tournaments will play their matches first, and will only be able to take part in the other activities if they are eliminated. |
Connection |
You'll have free access to the Internet with a crazy connection (10 GBps in and out). The internal network is linked with a Cisco 1 Gbit connection for each player. However, as the network is secure, you'll need to go through the check-in at reception before you can connect. Instructions on how to log in can be found on this page. |
Power |
Such an event requires a lot of power (>500,000 W), and resources are limited, so each person attending will be entitled to a maximum of 3 sockets. Any device other than a computer or console is forbidden (coffee makers, stoves, fridges, etc.). |
Catering |
Our bar will be open continuously throughout the event. You'll find our usual hot dogs and croque-monsieur, as well as sweet and savoury crêpes. This year we'll also be selling Dr Gabs beer. In compliance with the law, only people over 16 years of age will be allowed to buy it, and the bar will not sell it between 2am and 12pm. |
Rest & Shower |
A nearby room will be available exclusively for resting. Don't forget to bring your own sleeping equipment, as we only supply the floor and roof. As the size of the sleeping area is limited, we strongly advise you not to bring mattresses wider than 1.20m per person. Only players who have checked in will be allowed access. |
Parking and access |
For long-term parking, the Beaulieu public parking lot will be available, subject to availability. When you arrive, you can park directly there and pick up a ticket. If you wish to take advantage of a reduced rate, you will need to contact reception to obtain another ticket, which will replace the first. If you bought tickets when you registered, you can also pick them up at reception after parking. These reduced-price tickets are for a single exit and a single day. In case of need, there's also a P+R (velodrome) parking area easily accessible by bus. |
Health & safety |
Access to the LAN is restricted: entry to and exit from the building will be controlled. However, as you never know what might happen, ask someone to look after your equipment when you're away. Samaritans will be on hand throughout the event to deal with any health problems, so don't hesitate to ask them if you're feeling unwell. Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the event. Glass bottles are not allowed in the hall. |
